The Monel alloy is basically a combination of 67% of nickel and copper element with other chemical elements. The remaining elements are carbon, silicon, iron, and manganese. Monel 400/k500 forging is used in high-temperature applications. The Monel 400 forging is a copper-nickel alloy and has high strength. Monel grade 500k is a modified form of grade 400, with the addition of a small amount of aluminum and titanium. The addition of titanium and aluminum increases its strength and hardness. The Monel grade 500 k resist to corrosion cracking stress and crevice and pitting corrosion. It is also resistant to corrosion in oxidizing and reduces the environment.
